Scottish Shortbread Mix
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
In a medium bowl, combine all the ingredients, blending well. Store in an airtight container.

Scottish Shortbread
Makes 16 pieces
1 cup butter, softened
1 package Scottish Shortbread Mix
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F. Knead the butter into the shortbread mix and press the mixture firmly into an 8-inch pie plate, or shortbread mold. Bake for 1 hour. The shortbread should be pale in color, not browned. Cut into wedges while still warm.
Granola
6 c Rolled oats
1/2 c Wheat germ
1/4 c Honey
1/4 c Vegetable oil
1 c Raisins
VARIATIONS,
ADD
1/4 c Coarsely chopped almonds OR cashews, peanuts,walnuts
1/4 c Bran
1/4 c Unsweetened shredded coconut
1/4 c Sesame or sunflower seeds
1/4 c Nonfat milk
Preheat oven to 300F. Grease 3 large baking sheets with rims. In a large bowl mix oats together with wheat germ.
In small saucepan heat honey and oil until honey is thin and runny. Add mixture to oats and blend well.
Spread granola thinly and evenly on baking sheets and bake about 15 min, or until lightly browned. Cool. Spoon into a large bowl, add raisins, and mix thoroughly. Store in a tightly covered container and keep in a cool dry place
Snowman Soup
The Soup:
1 package hot chocolate mix
3 Hershey Kisses
15 (or so) marshmallows
1 candy cane
Put the above items in colored plastic wrap ( Cellophane square, and pull up and tie with ribbon.) Tuck inside a Christmas mug.
The Poem:
Put on paper and give with items in a mug ( Use a fun font and a snoman graphic)
Was told you’ve been real good this year
Always glad to hear it
With freezing weather drawing near
You’ll need to warm the spirit
So here’s a little Snowman Soup
Complete with stirring stick
Add hot water, sip it slow
It’s sure to do the trick!
